Wtd, cheap 600cc bike.
r1_pete - 20/11/11 at 06:22 PM

Daughter and husband are planning on getting bike licenses for next year, and would like to get on the road next summer season, its going to cost in the region of 2 - 2.5 grand in tuition and kit for the pair of them.

Does anyone have, or know of a rediculously cheap 600cc bike for sale, 6R, RF600, CBR600 etc, I'm really looking for a project, which I'll manage and they can do the hard work.

Check out Fazers

I got a taxed and tested one for £700 in ok condition.

Insurance was £75 for the year, and it does 50+mpg

Not the best looking bikes, but pleasant enough to ride, and quick enough to make you grin.

IIRC Kambo had an FZR600 for sale. Check here.

But my VTR1000 cost me the same to insure as my GSF750 and the 600 Bandit. My VTR could be yours for a grand?

Not very first bike friendly though the vtr1000. Nice bikes to ride, but I wouldn't recommend one to a new rider.

If you really fancy a project then I've got my CBR600FY race bike for sale - looking for £1200 for it, but you could probably make most of that back by selling the race bits.

Ohlins front and back, Arrow race system and carbon can, stage one motor, quick-shifter. The motor is very strong but standard and didn't really have a hard life (crap rider) and has only done 3000'ish miles. HISS still in place with original key.

Why not? About the same power as a modern 600 sports bike, but with a decent amount of torque at lower RPM so you don't have to scream the nuts off it.

I'd suggest they get in touch with the BMF for training. we used to charge £60 for an 8 week course run on Sunday mornings, and that was to test standard (and included CBT).

Admittedly we closed the school 10 years ago, but prices can't have gone up that much!

Try the fzr600r it was the last one before the bloated thundercat, great bike, more power than a fazer (a little over 100hp) and cheaper than r6's and cbr's

1992 fireblade with all new bodywork? £1800?
Denis.

A very tidy 600 Bandit for £750/800 here.

Only thing needed was it had a torn seat, and I've replaced that with a new covered one and a battery and I was going to get that this week...

U2U if interested.

Fancy a race bike? I have a Supermono bike for sale.

Basically its a Kawasaki KR1S with a 680cc 4 stroke single in it. Built by team green for Roger Milne in 1994 it was used in the early Supermono series and was road registered in 2003 on a Q.

I also have a standard 600cc engine to go with it.

No tax or test but I've put a brand new tyre on the front and it would fly through a day time MOT. I also have some lights if you fancy putting them on it.

£800
