anyone got anything? front stub axles, hubs, wheels and tyres, rear alxe perhaps?

just testing the water atm really. decided to do something with the engine in my old chainsaw, since it won't be getting used as a chainsaw any more.

still not decided what to make yet, bar stool kart, mini moto size f1 sidecar, or perhaps in the lead just now, but not much use perhaps til next year, a small 2 stroke powered tractor with gritting attachment... since the roads round my way, on a hill, don't get gritted

as with some of my other projects, will probably not get finished, so just wondering what people have left over in their garages.
still trying to find some steel tube offcuts too... next week, might go round a few fabricators i found near by to see what they have in the off cut bin

i just did a search for 'karting steering front' and there are a number of free plans sites.

cheers mike, i found some free plans for a bar stool kart. might be an idea.
or design my own chassis... hmm. might be better off getting a mini moto frame, cutting up and welding into a sort of sidecar...
i don't know. just struggling to find any kart steering parts hubs etc cheap enough. cheapest i got so far is £21 each for the front stub axles without hubs etc. will keep loking at the free plan sites to see if there's any other suggestions on suppliers. downloaded one set of plans last nite, had a quick read through. they're american though

I'll have a look in the garage later as I think I've still got some spares kicking around from my racing days?

stripped that engine of all its chainsaw parts last nite, don't know what i'll do for a sprocket, but the engine itself looks pretty powerful

From the stuff I've looked at they don't seem to use any bearing on the upright to chassis - is this correct?

So looked in the garage tonight and pulled out the following:



1. Steering column
2. Pair of stub axles
3. Track rods x3 (one has track rod ends)
4. Pair of rear hubs for 40mm axle
5. Caster / Camber adjusting guage
6. One seat stay
7. Exhaust clamp
8. Disc and carrier 40mm

There are also some specific Rotax spares depending on what engine you are running.

Make me an offer for the lot plus cost of postage and you can have them sir.

may i respectfully suggest a scrap quadbike as a donor for bits
thats what we used for a go-kart project
