Does anyone on here know why it seems no-one converts standard Mk2 Escort McPherson front struts to adjustable coilovers? The starting point always seems to be RS2000 or Capri struts, which are a bugger to get hold of these days. What's wrong with the poverty spec standard items? Can't they be dismantled?

I think the standard Escort ones have a steering arm that is integral with the strut body, not detachable like the RS2k. I think the RS also had larger bearings.
