Wanted 1x adjustable fuel regulator for use with bike carbs to tone down a facet solid state fuel pump! Cheers Oli.

My advice would be you need a bike fuel pump rather than a fuel regulator, 99% sure you will run into fuel probs with a facet pump and regulator, you have too bring pressure down that much flow becomes a problem.

I second that. I tried to turn the pressure down on my facet pump with a malpassi filter king regulator and couldn't get it low enough. The way to go is an R1 fuel pump from ebay (mine cost £15), no regulator required then.

Should this pump be fitted in place of the facet one?? Or does it need to be closer to the carbs??? Cheers Oli.

i have a spare pressure regulator, but i too would recommend a bike fuel pump. Most will be ok Im sure i got one for £5 on ebay

What pressure does an R1 pump run at?

most carb engine bikes run around 2-3 psi but flow loads,

Any pump off a big bike will do, i run a R1 pump at mo cos its what local breakers had in, a blade, bird will do too.

My R1 pump is mounted horizontally in the same place as the old facet pump (rear of car next to the tank). I have two inline filters fitted as well, one before the pump and one after. As Jon says the pump will deliver fuel until it senses back pressure in the line (needle valves closed) and then slowdown / shut off, so no regulator required.

one way you can solve your problem is to put a t junction between the pump and the carbs with the other branch of the T conecting to a fuel return (to the tank) I di this on a Feet Forward bike I built to solve the same problem when running a fuel pump to a carb normally gravity fed .

i am currently using a facet pump and regulator i bought from mac1 its working ok at moe no problems.i havnt done any track days with this set up yet though.
