i,m looking for a new tin top as my shopping trolly is getting too dirty to see out of
narrowed it down to a passat/A4/bora/skod octavia, prefer an oil burner, anyone got a half decent one up for grabs?

there's a nice a6 on the notice board at work, r reg, 115k, £3k but its a 1.8t i'm afriad. looked like good value but if you're doing the milage an oil burner is the only answer.

and no you can't have mine

Ned.

ps as an aside the bora is a saloon and the octavia is a hatch, i didn't realise this until I bought it and haven't had any problems but if you wan to carry big stuff in it the hatch is probably a little more flexible load wise.

i didnt realise that. Im sure ive seen saloons..

Passats are good. The only thing that lets a saloon down in the bloody great boot which isnt useable for big stuff.

I saw a w reg top spec passat 1.8t go through an auction thursday with not many miles on for1800 quid!!!! Then i saw a tdi v reg go through for 4k.

No help i know as im keeping my passat tdi unless i get offered good money of an A4 avant Tdi.

i drive lots of different cars from day to day, i would highly recomend the passat and bora. either of the tdi models, you will get about 400-450 miles from a tank if you drive conservativly, they are both very reliable, and very comfortable with good performance,

skoda, bag if shite imho, but some old people seem to like them

if you are going for the A4 then i would get the RS model, that thing kicks ass and fellow work mates will be licking you arse to have a go in it
