Wanted - Gear Change Cable
Guinness - 20/5/07 at 03:10 PM

Out on a blat today and my gear cable snapped. It's a push / pull control cable supplied by MNR. About 1.4m long with M5 threaded ends.

AA recovered me home OK.

MNR are away at Brands Hatch this weekend. Even if they had one in stock, it'll be a 4 hour round trip just to collect it.

Anyone know if you can get them off the shelf at any major manufacturers main dealer. Some front wheel drive cars must use control cables to change gears?

Urgent, 'cause I've got a space booked on a trackday tomorrow!

Cheers

Mike

I found mine on a lancer boss 556 side loader at work, I think it operates the engine kill button. It i about 1.5 metres long with both ends threaded.
I guess a search for lancer boss fork trucks should bring up a dealer.
Hope this helps .Kipper.

If I'd known, I have some control cables off my old outboard. They are about the right length and have threads on the end about m5 IIRC. I could have taken them to Teesside for you!

Cheers Owelly, only trouble with that would be driving down to Teesside in only one gear. Thinks my clutch would've been shagged!

I managed to get a replacement from my local yacht chandlers. £16 with M5 threaded ends. Called a "Morse 33c"?

Cheers
