Seems m14 is an odd size and none of the lads with lathes have them
Anyone got a set kicking around before I go buy some?
I made some thread adapters for my rack to convert to 1/2" unf for my rose joints.
I bought a tap&die set off flea bay , in a big carry case, goes from M6 to M24 ! with M18x1.5mm too.. well worth the money, which at the time was
I think £40-odd with delivery
This is the cheapest same set I could find.

The secret with taps and dies is only to buy what you will need.
Any tool factors, and every town has one ot two, will sell singles.
You will get a better product and save money.
The same for reamers.
try K supplies in chorley, on eves lane. 01257 267170
ask for graham. if your struggleing i can put it on account
If it's only a small amount you need I extended the 12 or 13mm penetration of the rod into the rod end by welding a suitably threaded
self-coloured nut onto the rod end (tack it first when screwed onto the rod to ensure the threads line up). That gives it enough strength -
(can't claim that as an original idea - credit to WestF27) his seem to be OK - mine as yet un-tested.
