I've got one John but you're a long way away from me!

If you cant get one I'll send it to you, or they sell em in machine mart, ask for Blacksmiths' drills.

Cheers

Chris

Now I know why they make 50 pence pieces the shape they are Conrod......So they can get em out of your hands with a set of 36" Stillsons.

Bob

17mm holesaw??? will fit a drill chuck.

theconrodkid - 2/10/08 at 06:11 PM

the metal is 3 mm thick and life is so short so a drill is really the only way

A hole saw will easily cut through 3mm steel - I do it all the time at work
Just go half way through from each side - or drill a small (3mm ?) hole at one edge of the `circle` - thats what I do when cutting holes in 12mm ally

dave r - 2/10/08 at 08:24 PM

where are you ?

Exactly. Well said it should take about 2 minutes. I've cut 2 inch holesaw holes through a 12mm folded steel ( cold work hardened etc )drawbar hitch on ERF's before ( Not in 2 mins though)

Once you've got a 13mm hole, taking it to 15mm with a round or half-round file really is about 5minutes work!

Cheers,
James
