I meant to say fund his locost build.

...I think you might be right (nothing wrong with that though IMHO)

There are also better manifolds available from other forum members who can re-space the carbs for you as required as part of the service

He does do them on here i got a price off him last week for one with spacing to suit r1 carbs (it was a wee bit more than that though )

no your quite right nick, nothing at all wrong with that, if anyone can help anyone else out and make a few pounds out of it then everyone is happy.

Now I have the ali tig set , I have pondered making a few ali inlet manifolds to suit throttle bodies myself.

..and will you be embarking on "registered trader" status

Cant remember who it was selling them, but they said they would do one with a curved tract instead of the angled one, which cant be good for flow.

keith2lp - 27/2/07 at 07:46 AM

The manifolds on ebay use 2 tubes welded at an angle to each other, this is not good for air flow as air does not like sharp corners.

Manifolds produced with a smooth curve on the inlet will always give better air flow.

nige - 27/2/07 at 09:01 AM

i was going to make mine like that
and then flood braze into the inside and
smooth out with a flap wheel

rebelrider - 2/3/07 at 06:09 PM

ooooer lots of talk about me the smooth piped ones are in process spaced to carbs they will be on ebay shortly along with crossflow rover v8 and vauxhall but the ones ive sold with the welded angular pipes have been sold to 9 people so far of which i believe only 2 have put them on there car but have them set up and running nicely so air does turn corners i guess. and thanks for all your kind words
