BUY MY FLIPPIN CHEROKEE!!!
owelly - 16/9/08 at 08:42 PM

Sorry for shouting.
It's back in the Bay of E Cherokee on Ebay
Someone must want such a thing. It's exceedingly good and an excellent towcar!
Offers or swaps welcomed but the swap must have a bundle of cash attached to it!

Mark G - 16/9/08 at 08:49 PM

Looks like a good buy.

Would you accept a cheque for £20,000 for you to bank for me and keep the change in an African vault AND £35,000's worth of diamond mine shares in exchange for the Jeep?

I have both waiting...

owelly - 16/9/08 at 08:58 PM

Hmmmm. Very tempting.....
Throw in a box of mixed frogs and it's a deal!

Mark G - 16/9/08 at 09:03 PM

Sorry, I only have a box of the lesser spotted flying frog at the moment. If I can get any assorted frogs I'll get in touch as I'm very interested.

I may be able to get some mixed toads by next week if its any good to you?

owelly - 16/9/08 at 09:12 PM

I'd never considered toads. I'll have a chat with SWMBO and get back to you.

greglogan - 16/9/08 at 09:29 PM

Looks like you'll need diesel before too long...... sorry

owelly - 16/9/08 at 09:41 PM

Worry not. I've milked the village Derv tree and filled the Jeep up....

Jon Ison - 16/9/08 at 10:20 PM

Where do you see it price wise ?

Mrs could well be interested, oh just seen other swappy bit, she runs a nice diesel focus ghia at mo, no worries if yr not interested in it as we have a buyer lined up for it anyways..

24vseven - 16/9/08 at 10:29 PM

"It is part-time 4x4."

can i ask what is it the rest of the time???????

many thanks

owelly - 16/9/08 at 10:55 PM

Certainly. The rest of the time it's 2x4!

Jon, the book price according to Parkers is £9800ish. The RAC price guide for a private sale is £11000!
I have the reserve at £7850 but we really need to shift the car. We are running a Range Rover as well at the mo.
I'd be interested in the Focus depending on what you would want for it! I've reduced the price of the Jeep to well below book so if you were to do the same with the Focus......my Mrs could use the Focus instead of the Rangey!

omega0684 - 17/9/08 at 08:45 AM

why dont you get rid of the rangy! surely that eats more fuel than the jeep? they are both 4x4's, or is it a case of you will get more for the jeep?

britishtrident - 17/9/08 at 10:04 AM

Market is already flooded with 4x4 and big cars that will be hit by road tax and fuel cost hikes.
My neighbour had two nearly new Freelander TD4s which he sold in a panic and lost a fortune on. My other neighbour has a Y reg 1.8 Freelander the 2009 Road tax will be about 50% value as the car --- if had had been a year older on an X reg he wouldn't have to pay the hike.

Peteff - 17/9/08 at 10:56 AM

My friend just bough a Mercedes M class 4x4 for £8,000. It's immaculate, has all the extras and would have cost £60,000 new.

I don't think that's true. Surely a Y registered car is not taxed by it's CO2 emmissions and hence he will pay just the standard £185'ish.

Edited to add; I've just checked up and Britishtrident is right - I didn't realise it went back that far

The Cherokee is far better on fuel, faster, nippy enough to run around town, will fit in cark parking spaces, is cheaper to insure etc...
The Ranjy is thirsty, big, clumsy, will breakdown a soon as the warrenty runs out, will cost a fortune to put tyres on etc.... But it's a nice car.
The Cherokee cost £25900 when it was new less than three years ago. If I can get back anywhere near £8k, I'll be happy.
The Ranjy cost £57000 less than three years ago!!
I paid £13000 for the Ranjy a few weeks ago so as long as I can afford to put fuel in it, I will!! it's a loverly bus and if the Tax does eventually go up to £400 a year, that's only £1.09 a day. I don't drink, smoke or gamble so it's a small price to pay for having a nice car!

owelly - 20/9/08 at 09:40 PM

C'mon folks!!! I need to shift this Jeep!! There must be someone who wants such a car. I've heard that this winter will be the worst since records began so if you don't buy my Jeep, you'll not be going anywhere.
I've just made that last bit up. And the idea of not having to go anywhere is rather appealing.

owelly - 24/9/08 at 10:14 AM

FFS!!!
£4200!! The highest bidder did contact me to offer £5250 but I refused it.

any better offers??
