i found this tube miter program its free

download and run its only small
go to file and settings
put in the diameter of both tubes the wall thickness and the angle that you want
and BAMM its done just print it off, cut out, wrap around your tube and draw the lines out

it tells you on the website which line:

That is useful, but is there something similar that gives you a shape for to join to a flat surface? I had no end of trouble making a plinth out of ali sheet for my round fog light to butt up nicely to my back panel and leave the light vertical. In the end, I did it by trial and error, making freehand templates out of card first, but I still had to put some beading on to cover up the little gaps.
