I have undone all of the bots on my propshaft (engine end). I threadlocked them in, and now I think the thread lock has stuck the prop adaptor to the prop. I have undone the centre bearing, so it can slide backwards. I then bashed it with a hammer, tried driving a wedge between the faces, and sprayed brake cleaner in the holes, but it still wont budge! Any suggestions?

I was thinking of just firing it up and dumping the clutch. Do you think it would damage anything!?

Heat might be te answer, but as ever, it is in an awkward position (fuel lines etc!).

I recon the two faces will be rusted together myself. You could try penetrating fluid in there. You could also try rocking the car with it in gear rather than driving it. Worth tying the prop up loosely though if you have access to save it dropping suddenly and damaging a UJ.

I wouldnt use heat just in case you damage the gearbox output shaft oil seal.

The reason for taking it apart is to get the output shaft seal out. I think it is pissing oil everywhere. The car has only been on the raods a matter of weeks, with a constant drizzle of oil over the prop, so I doubt it is too rusted!

Think I will try the rocking it gear thing tomorrow. I already had it tied off as I was scared silly of getting a U/J on the nose!

I'd put the handbrake on and let the clutch out slowly in gear of course.
