Morning all
Time to pick the collective brains here again. I have a piece of 10mm ali tube which needs securing to a non circular ali bar.
I've filed the bar so that it's a reasonably snugg fit inside the tube, though there are gaps where there isn't metal to metal contact.
I wish to permantly attach the bar inside the tube and it will be taking a small amount of weight (50g)
What would you lot recomend for producing a decent bond? I was thinking either sikaflex or araldite.
Opinons please on those options or any other ideas. Solution must be readily avaialble without resorting to the interweb etc.
Many thanks
I would go with araldite, or any 2 part epoxy type adhesive. Just key and clean the faces well first
as above, 2 part epoxy resin,
or JB weld
I use that to build up areas and then drill and tap it, really is very good.
fine with heat, fuel etc
Many thanks fellas, this site never lets me down.
Have you considered alluminium solder?
Lumiweld?
ALLY SOLDER? Never heard of it, where do you get it from, how do you use it etc?????
You don't say if the bar is round or square.
If round a pity you filed the bar otherwise you could have heat shrunk the tube on.
If round and close fit use superglue.
