Someone asked me if i could have a look at it as it is not working.
It is similar to the ones Maplin sell. 3 in 1 Charger, flashlight and compressor.
I was told it hasn't been charged for a long time. Now, even if you plug it to the mains to charge, it won't do anything.
Could a faulty battery be behind the issue? Shouldn't it still show the light trying to charge?
I will have a look at it next week but as always, i am planning ahead.
Thank you
My brother in law has had a few of these over the years.
The batteries in them are usually the cheapest bits of crap that China can produce.
If left to drain fully they deteriorate badly to such a point where they will not recharge.
Best thing to do is look for a replacement.
I have one of these from Machine Mart without the compressor add on and it has performed brilliantly. We use it for a camping battery as well as for the general duty light and jump starts and it is the second one we've had, the first one lasted 7 years and this one has done 5 so far but you do have to remember to give them a charge every month to top them up and whenever they have been used just to bump them back up. Once they go they are scrap but check the charger is working before you abandon it.
atm it does nothing i think. wont even charge the battery nor any leds light up when i plug it in to charge. wondering if it hes any protection hence not doing anything because the battery is dead
No it's simply the battery is knackered, they are cheap crap usually... my dad's had a few and keeps his latest one on charge when he's not out in the car. If you use it, then leave it for a couple of months without charging the battery dies especially in the cold car boot.
As said, once the battery rolls over, chuck it. But before you do.....
Connect to the good battery on a car, start the car and see if it will take some charge.
I have one that I've taken the battery out so just use it as a 12v compressor/work light with a ciggy plug on it.
