ok What do we think of these then? MOBILE TILTING CAR LIFT RAMP *FREE 595mm AXLE STANDS* | eBay

That first lift would be OK if you like working on your knees! We have a scissor lift at work that lifts a car up to 2 metres with no cross member that is fine for most jobs. If you have enough hieght then you can't beat a 2 poster

PPC did a buyers guid on these sort of things, and with this type the biggest problem seemed to be the hand winder to raise it, takes forever, and is bloody hard work. Never tried one myself so can't comment from experience. HTH Ray

Its meant for servicing brakes and dropping out oils, no good for taking big bits out

For that you need a four poster or two poster with arms that come in from the side, which if I had the space would purchase.

Like SUPERB BRAND NEW RAMP 2 POST LIFT ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC | eBay

But at that price its going to be a bit wobbly and weak, all you need to do is not lift to full height.
