Which is the strongest sikaflex adhesive?
I'm gluing the E Type bonnet back together, which involves gluing flanges about 15mm wide in various lengths to the underside of the bonnet, and
inside the wings. These flanges take the inner wings and provide a lot of strength to the structure.
Reading the various parts of the sika site, it would seem 522, but, wondered if anyone has experience to offer.

No idea on the bonding, but is that an Aluminium bonnet? Does it come in kit form?
I ask having helped my Dad restore a number of E types and spent time repairing, prepping and fitting/aligning original bonnets.
552 is a good general purpose all use adhesive. So, yes, you can use that one.
BUT, with alloy you MUST clean and prime, ideally with the correct Sika products. It makes a huge difference to the strength of the join.

Its a steel bonnet, the panels are new and will be DAd and etch primed, all the flanges and inner panels are shot blasted and etch primed.
As an alternative you could look at worth bond and seal... That is what my scoop is down with as suggested by dax.
If you want something strong 3M do a product called 'Stronger Than Weld' Renault Espace's are put together with it. I put the front
end on a car with it once as well and it's totally solid.
It's a 2 part epoxy bonding adhesive.

correct stuff for the job, sikaflex is great for what it is designed for, but panel bonding is not it!

Thanks chaps, does that 3M epoxy have gap filling proprties, the fit of e types is not perfect and may be up to 5mm gaps to fill.

tiger seal is your friend for bonding panels!
