redrilling throttle body bolt pattern

Have brought a 'universal' chinese throttle body off ebay (looks alright all things considered).

Bolt pattern is close but not same as the one I'm replacing. Too close to redrill without the holes connecting. I was thinking of filling the holes with jb weld first. Do you think that would stop the drill wandering into the old hole. Or are there any other good tricks I might use?

a small adapter plate perhaps? if it can rotate say, 45 degrees (or whatever means that the holes are to be places half way between the exisiting ones) drill and tap, lovely stuff?

Plugging the old holes with a tight fitting bit of alloy rod would be the best way if you have to hand drill this.

Like mike said, get some plugs and press it in/ or weld and face. Then redrill. I have seen this done a 24" cast iron valve. Worked very well
