I'm currently fitting some doors to a kitchen style cabinet (I designed and made the cabinet myself and the doors were purchased).

The doors have Ø35mm partial holes cut in them for the hinges to locate in. However I could really do to cut 2 new new Ø35mm recesses in the doors to reposition the hinges to avoid some screws in the cabinet.

Does anyone have do this kind of thing for a living and can they recommend a suitable tool for doing the job please?

Budget is around £15-20 for what I assume must be a drill bit of some kind.

I have a drill and other tools available already.

Screwfix sell the cutters. Either use it fixed in a drill stand or use a router if you have one. Dont try to use it free hand in a drill you will make a mess of it.

You'll need a 35mm forstner bit on a pillar drill (bench mounted one will do, doesn't have to be a biggie). But as said, don't bother trying to do it with a hand drill - you'll end up making a horrible mess and buying new doors....

And make sure you have a stop on the drill so it doesn't go in too far.

I have a bench mounted drill press (with a depth stop) and will take a look at Screwfix.

I certainly don't want to mess up the doors!

Even using a pillar drill I would still clamp the door to the table. You could even clamp a straight edge (bit of 2 x 1) to the drill table and that will ensure you get the holes exactly the same in from the door edge. Still clamp the door down though.
