bit of a stupid question perhaps but what type of spring compressor should be use for col over shocks, like those on fron suspension e.g. spax? (coil
diameter is about 70 mm).
I'm visualising a plate that goes over the coil instead of hooks due to there being less space between the coils than on the turrets type as
fitted to cars.
Examples anyone?
Of is there another way?
Buy your springs short enough to go on without needing a compressor.

With mine I just wound back the adjustor ring until spring tension was released . Just make sure you have enough adjustment .

I didn't buy them.
So you're saying usual practise/design is that the springs an not compressed until wieght is put on them?
