not for a locust but for a land rover.
went offroading yesterday and managed to rip off my driver's side wing mirror (defender type) . In photo below, 2 bolts screw in from the
right into an alloy "box" which houses the spring for the arm.
Looking for ideas on how to make a quickly detachable mounting - ideally about 30 seconds to undo but even up to 5 minutes is acceptable (wing nuts,
wedge?) and ideally without using any tools but it has to be firm mounting so not to shake or drop off when driving.
Can't you just make a pin with a slot around then grubscrew it on. A bit like a gate hinge.

Weld a square tube on the side of the Rover, and mount the mirror on a smaller square tube which just fits inside the larger one. Then just a few
holes and some split pins to hold it in place.
Just remembered LR's are ali paneled, so bolt the tube to the side!

Usually steel or rust where the wing mirror attaches depending on state of bulkhead so welding will do! Those mirriors are usually OK folded flat
against the side of the vehicle , just what were you doing to rip it off?
