Cleaning Rusty Flywheel
scootz - 7/11/07 at 02:02 PM

My donor engine has obviously been sat in the scrappies for a while as the flywheel has a light covering of brown rust.

What's the best way for cleaning this off? Chemical application, or polishing?

Electrolysis does the trick.

Not sure I'd bother with a flywheel, it's not like you can ever see it The clutch area will clean off very quickly by itself. If you do want to tidy it up then I would have thought a quick going over with a wire brush would suffice.
