I'd like to copy the John Le Carre series that's currently playing on Radio 4.

Failed miserably using my mini disc and the radio so want to try and get it from Iplayer straight to a file (eventually to mp3 format ideally).

I'm pretty sure when people have asked this question before the answer was along the lines of "set the recorder to record staight through the sound card".

But I'm having difficulty with this. I not Iv've found the relevent settings. I've played with the settings in the Win XP sound recorder and I just get silence.

What am I doing wrong?

It's a Dell Precision 340 with built in sound card and just bog standard XP sound software.

Any help greatfully received!

Ive done it in the past with a piece of software called 'total recorder' which records the throughput of the sound card to wav/mp3.
- Its not free software, although its not expensive. Otheriwse recored it of the pc with the md recored?
