02GF74 - 1/5/10 at 05:03 PM

- needs to use one of those mico USB receivers
- battery to last 6 months
- shape is important - dunno how to describe other than I use a dell and logitech that seem to fit my paws ok
- cost, up to a tenner?

bit confusing me is the resolution.... I have a dell and logitch and am happy with them but no clue what resolution they are.

so what have you got and can recommend?

I would suggest anything from logitech will forfill your requirments.
- Many of the mice that ship with dells are also logitech.

I run a Mx510 with my desktop (wired) and Nx50 for the laptop (also wired, but smaller and with cable storage) The parents use another Mx510 (used of ebay) on one machine and a coreless MX500 on the other.

Personally i find coreless mice heavy, but i can see the attachtion for a laptop, partiuarly is used with a reciver smaller enough to be left plugged in.

Just pick one from logitechs website, make sure the reviews done read 'all logitechs are great, except this one' and buy it.

Got my mum one of these, she's happy with it.

I've never seen the point of cordless mice and keyboards. I like a wire so that I know exactly where to find them! Particularly with three young kids - it's bad enough trying to find where they've hidden the remote control!

6 months battery life on a wireless mouse is a bit optimistic - I use my Logitec Laser (no ball) everyday on two computers linked via a KVM switch and get about half that - I'd say about 350-400 hours using Energizer Lithium which I have found to last the longest.
