yeah as above yet again vista fails...
anyone know were I can simply download this thing without the usual con of paying for all these drivers that should be there already on this stupid
computer but arn't it as seems to be the case on the web
thanks
It's part of the Roxio VHS to DVD converter software isn't it ? You cancel the Windows driver installation and then install the Roxio
software which contains the driver.
Here is a bit about it.

its the magix VHS uploading usb thing
tried everything I can think of, been on the magix site and downloaded their driver software, still no luck
plently of sites offering "free" driver checks that then ask for a fee and not cheap either for one stupid drive that should be there
thanks reading that it sounds like the usb thing should have been connected first even though thats different software it probably works the same.
didn't want to connect the usb till the driver was installed first...why didn't they say??
cheers i'll see if I can sort this

Go to device manager, right click on the device in question and click 'properties'.
Go to the 'details' tab, and look for the 'Hardware IDs' in the pull down box. Copy one of the strings (like
'USBVid_090c&Pid_1000&Rev_1100
' etc) and paste it into the box on the www.devid.info website.
If there's a driver out there for your device, then this should locate it for you. Works every time for me
