How crazy do you have to be to strap mini jet engines to your feet, stick some hot water bottles filled with fuel down your jump suit then fall out of a hot air balloon!

Now just how kewl would a locost be two of those mini jet engines strapped either side. That'd give the corsa boys a real fright sitting at the lights. <Home made jet engine!>

That ain't a jet, it's a pulse engine, and it's, er how can I put this. EXTREMELY NOISEY The V1/2 were powered by pulse jets.

If you wanna see proper gas turbines working, get to the Ally Pally around 21/1/07 for the LMEE, and Wren may put on a display.

There's a couple of books around that have plans to make your own. If I find mine, I'll put up details

When I used to fly model planes, the were a few guys at our club that had a flying team called the ghost squadron. They had a massive ME-262 with twin jet engines.

They never flew it at our club because we only had a grass runway, but at the open day they did a run of the engines and it sounded awesome.

The V-2 was powered by a rocket engine not a pulse jet.
"Why do you consider the pulse engine" not to be a jet engine Simon ?

there's a couple off guy at the flying club have turbine planes. try and hold the suckers back on full throttle, push you across the grass!!

From the sound (whine) they are jet turbine engines. A pulse jet gives a low pitched rattle (Brrrrrrr)

Doesn't make him any less mad. And don't they get rather hot ?

pulse jet's are around a meter long and glow red hot, with fire pouring out the back...

The V-1 engine was about 3 meters long and a mini Lockwood is just around 2 foot long,both pulse jets (one with valves and the Lockwood valveless)
