I may be wrong but isn't his one off the most technically inaccurate drawings of an engine ever?? Rescued attachment wrong.jpg

is it a hybrid 2cv engine?

or is it some sort of 2 stroke arrangement sucking the gases through the crank case?

na it's more powerful than one off those...

Confused but excited. - 5/1/07 at 05:11 PM

Why are the cylinder heads missing?
Why does it have unequal cylinders. is it steam powered?
Why is it cooled with urine?
What is the big nose for on the right of the picture?
Why am I asking these questions?
Where are my dried green frog pills?

Looks like a 2 stroke engine aeroplane engine without cylinder heads or an inlet.

The turbocharger (?) bevel gear driven to the crank seems interesting, maybe it actually pumps exhaust out quicker? Or it could just be wrong

Looks to me like the yellow isnt the exhaust but part of a cooling system. The inlet and outlet may be in the heads which are missing.

I thought 2 stroke inlet and exhaust had to be in the bore? surely it wouldnt work if they were in the head?
Please correct me if im wrong!

Iain

Yeah, the yellow bit looks from the arrows like the exhaust, and if it went through the casting would be in the bore.

But agreed it might be the cooling system and the bevel thing driven thing would be a water pump, which would make more sense.

It gets worse the more you look at it.

i bet some kid drew it knowing that a bunch of petrolheads would spend hours trying to work out what was wrong, what was what, and what needed changing to make it work!

Looks closest to a 2 stroke with forced exduction, but as said, its ill in many ways

Just a thought, maybe its not an engine but is a pump.

JoelP - 5/1/07 at 08:52 PM

maybe a wind powered beer pump?

Wondering this, or if they are "trying" to recycle exhaust pressure "power" back into the driveline/prop.

Ok, sorry guys but that's not the cooling pump

It's described in the book as the 'turbo charge system'

Oh dear...

Yip this is the most lame attempt at an engine ever, the jet engine diagrams aren’t much better either, book fit for the bin I think.
