Ebay aeroscreen
goaty - 25/5/09 at 08:11 PM

Hi,
does anyone have one of these and could measure it at its widest point please? (where it wraps down the side of the scuttle).
Want to see if it will fit mine as the carbon mods one is too narrow.
thanks in advance

I can tell you that it isn't wide enough for a +4" McSorley Locost like mine... My scuttle is from GTS Tuning with a 4" extension to the width right down the middle. I could probably make it fit as it is quite flexible but the aeroscreen wouldn't be lined up with the driver's and passenger's seats. I'll probably end up widening it with an aluminium strip.

To be fair, the seller told me he didn't think it would be wide enough but I told him I would either sell it on or modify it. I haven't decided which yet.

Cheers,
Craig.

As per Craig, I'm building a GTS W7DE (+4) and it didn't fit. He told me it would, but took it back. Personally, from all the luck I've had trying to find one, I'll either end up with a small perspex windscreen-style unit, or nothing at all, and wear my bike helmet!

I've already got a pair of Box BX2 helmets which I bought from minihaha.co.uk. Linky.

The helmets are great and at £29.99 each were a bargain but I want to be able to go out for short trips around town with just my sunglasses on and perhaps a woolly bunnet. That's what I'm hoping the aeroscreen will allow me to do with a bit more comfort. I'll get it to fit somehow...

Cheers,
Craig.

Go to b+q and buy some perspex and make ur own its not hard I have just made one for an MK and also made one for a locost 4" wider than standard. Tools needed tape measure, markerker pen, jigsaw and a hot air gun, tip is to keep the blade cool when cutting (air line or cut small amounts at a time) use the hot air gun to help you ben the perspex as long as you use gentle heat you wont burn the perspec. I could honestly say the item produced is as good as if not better than items available off the shelf.
