) What's the best way to fasten a Flintstone's hood to the top of the windscreen frame?
This question sprung into my mind while reading the Singer sewing machine question - I thought I'd better start anew rather than hijack that
thread!

What's the best way to fasten a Flintstone's hood to the top of the windscreen frame?
I'll start: I've got a Caterham screen and a Caterham hood, so it will attach with 7 poppers
Along a similar lines, how do you make the hood go around the curve without a bit of extra material in the corners when you use poppers or similar
(will not apply if you use a "bow" to attach to screen)?

My old MG had Tenax Fasteners round the back of the hood which i always thought would be a good way of fastening a seven hood.
They'd be post SVA fitment though !
I've done mine with a length of ali tubing going the width of the screen in a pocket with a fixed pin in one side and a thumb screw in the other
side. The same type of rod slides into a pocket for the bungee cord to clip on to.
Both rods are the same width as the cover so it all rolls up nice and fits in the same cover which is strapped behind the seats.

Our effort was a section of caravan slotted ali screwed to the top of the screen.
The hood has a bead sewn into it that slides in from the side.
The sailmaker also has the straps and buckles to make sure its tight enough as not to flap.
The other thing we have still to sort is the gutter flaps to make the water run off the back rather than down your arm.

The way Dax do it, which works very well is to attach the material to a piece of U channel, which then fits upside down like 'n' on top of
the windscreen, and is held on at each end by an overcentre latch.

Have a look in Piddy's archive David. he did something similar to mango, Caravan awning channel on the top and stitched a bit of arial coax
into the roof so it simply slides in.
Very good and simple idea.
My westfield roof slots over the screen frame with a bit of plastic u channel with a thumb screw in a slot in the middle to fix it on.
Yup... Piddy's the Man for this

That channel looks perfect - I'm just approaching the glass-fitting stage, so I need to get this sorted pronto!
