I like it. Would look good with a black fine mesh behind it?
mental block, hmmm, been to any parties recently?
Paul
I like it too
I'd be having one of these
Like it
That grille makes me smile!
I do wonder if the surround and bars are a little too thick? Slightly out of proportion?
But my comments should be taken lightly, as I do like it...
im not sure on it...they do look thick, but thats because the grp mould is thick around the edges.....
it will probably find its way onto the 'bay' before long, unless i get used to it....
I like it, it's different
That's great
if that fits a Haynes roadster i,d buy it
100% deffo

whilst it may look find and dandy, you are missing the point of a grille.
it is not to look fancy or be comical, that is a secondary function but its purpose is to prevent rabbits and medium sized stones from punching the
radiator whilst maintaining good air flow to the radiator.
I would estimate you are blocking of at least 30% of the air plus the wide strips are introducing tubulance.
the answer to this question is: shopping trolley or if you want to get fancy, aluminium strips to make egg box grille for the retro look.
you make get the thumbs up on here but you are wasting your time reinventing the wheel and comking up with an inferior result.
compare yours to a grille from someone who has a proven record demonstrating they know what they are doing.
in rhe end, it is up to you as you'll be paying for the engine build after blow up.
oh, and replace the word "gay" by "crap".
<grumpy mode off>
PS sorry if this offends; you may not like my advice but you cannot argue it is good advice and for your benefit.

Thats a bit strong! Don't think that one ^^^^ would stop a rabbit at 70mph or many stones... so thats crap!
Personally I think it's nice as a bit of fun... but it is going to restrict the air flow. The edges might fall with in IVA radius requirements as
well.

That caterham grill will do jack shit!!

I reckon boggle's smiley grille will stop a half-brick thrown up by a lorry far better than the caterham one.
...and it still makes me grin!

Once again all I see is the small white square with the cross in it. Any chance someone could post a photo in a different way to the original.
Seems like whatever you've come up with seems to be getting broad appreciation here for being different and fun. For that alone I take my hat
off to you.
now lets being seeing this grille everyone is talking about.
Brilliant, original, simple but effective, and nuts to the grumpy old git. - The caterham one might stop a rabbit....maybe.....but a pidgeon or
sparrow - unlikely!
Keep your posts coming - I'm in the middle of doing my grille now - will post pics when I've worked out how to stop the bits falling
off......
Nice find of four 10mm solid stainless rods in a skip.......
Total cost......£3.99 for the silicone (and quite a bit of work). ?
Rescued attachment grille resized .JPG
And another of the inside showing holes drilled to provide a 'key' for the silicone to stick to.
Rescued attachment SDC10430 .JPG
I like it just make the slats a little thinner.

I haven't weighed it, but whilst its not that heavy, I think it has doubled the weight of the nosecone - maybe no good for formula 1, but
I'm not planning to race it........
.............much
