How to mask up around a corner
bi22le - 5/4/11 at 04:59 PM

Hi all,

I hope you all have a buzz about the summer and the great days of driving ahead. I cant wait!!!

So, Im starting to mask up my rear tub to spray the arches. The problem being is marking tape dont like going side ways and creates creases which will give a 50p effect edge. Any nifty ideas around this. Insulating tape instead? Some other method of masking around corners?

Thanks in advance,

Biz

What you want is 3m fine line tape, that stuff is magic

Yep, fine line tape and then the normal stuff.

Also don't leave it on too long as it's a PITA to get off.

Or you could get away with spending less and convince everyone octagonal arches are the future!

Fortunately 3M do a cleaning fluid in a pump can that removes adhesive in no time, if you do leave it on for more than a few days.
Works really well and smells of oranges.
Funnily enough it's called '3M Citrus Based Cleaner'.

cant you release the arches slightly or are they rivetted, if you can then do it and slide paper behind them
