Wider bodywork
fibreglass - 14/7/04 at 09:30 PM

I will post some pictures tomorrow evening of the standard version of the Locost bodywork so you can all judge for yourselves, but in the mean time.
The question i need answered is:
Is that 4" wider at the widest point only leaving the front section as per the book or: 4" added to overall dimensions. ie: 4" added down centre of nosecone, bonnet and scuttle.

Hi FG

I can only speak for my own chassis
which is 4" added to all transverse members. All angles remain the same,
just everything 4" wider.

Look forward to seeing your pics.

Look at jim mcsorley's website. He does the drawings for the +4 chassis which you can download as pdf's. should give you any dimensions you need.

Fibreglass,

Most people insert 4" down the whole length of the car.

Mine 4" wider everywhere, and 1" taller to keep the proportions closer to the original.

Mine's 4" wider down the middle as per the McSorley 7+4 plans. My chassis is standard height but I'm using the slightly taller bodywork from GTS albeit I'm going to have to cut it in half and widen it...

Cheers,
Craig.
