Bonnet bumps
David Jenkins - 16/9/02 at 07:25 AM

Anyone know anyone who sells glassfibre bonnet bumps?

I'm using a downdraft DGAV and want to cover the air filter to avoid any problems during SVA (and I think they look nice, too!)

cheers,

David

Thought I just read in another post David that you were not gonna buy something for 9 quid. Now you are going to BUY a bonnet bump!

Now, now, Steve, don't get cheeky!

If I want to do something on a lathe I just wander over to whichever lathe is appropriate* and away I go.

I can't be @rsed to make a plug, make a mould, make the piece, fix the cock-ups I'll invariably make, and so on, all for an plastic inverted pudding basin!

cheers,

David

* Yes, I have a choice! A 6" Colchester Student (cost me £200) and a 3.875" Zyto (cost me £50).

The big laugh is that my Locost should end up lighter than my big lathe!

It's not the amount of money that bothered me - it's the value for money. I object to paying £9 + P&P + VAT for 10p's worth of aluminium with a flare at each end.
