A nice sexy AEROCATCH would do the job or dowel pins from the bonnet into the nose cone.

I would suggest glassing something to the underside to make a lip...

FuryRebuild - 21/8/12 at 05:59 PM

+1 for aerocatch. they're simple to fit, flush, locking if you need it, weigh nothing.

like this one?

Yup - I've got them on my fury, after my original fittings (I adapted TVR strikers and sliders so that I could mount the whole lot inboard and make it look very neat. All well and good until the cables started popping off. Not TVRs fault I may add.

Then went to aerocatches - they're not expensive for the time and ease of fitting.

ok great, they look perfect, ill stick the bodywork back on tonight and order a set. where is the best place to buy from? or a case of searching for the cheapest

Just go hunting for the cheapest.

IIRC, they do a couple of different sizes, and locking or not. You have choices.

Aerocatches are massive though, you don't want one of them either side of that inlet it'll look weird in my opinion, get dzus fastners or something subtle like that.

If you fancy aerocatches go ahead but check the dims first and cut some out of cardboard and lay em on the bonnet first. Once you've cut em in there's no going back

will do scott,

would alloy be ok to use?
the dzus ones would need some fibreglassing alloy strips to allow fitting as there is no real lip for them to sit onto

Beaver

Sure - ping me when you're over. I'm rebuilding at the moment so there's lots going on.

I think Stott has a point - will you be happy with the size? Also, they take paint, so you can make them vanish a bit

thanks

Going to mesure in morning, not fussed about seeing them they won't be the most eye catching thing sticking out of that bonnet!

Thanks

Have you got room to fit the Dzus fastners,Just need to check the depth of the material and order the correct ones from there. Demon Tweeks etc stock them.
Hope this helps,
Chris.

BONNET BOOT HOOKS WESTFIELD CATERHAM 7 DAX LOCOST COBRA | eBay

what's wrong with these? They hold mine and others on very well, with no vibration problems.

I'm guessing that they wouldn't get through IVA.

RK - 28/8/12 at 10:15 PM

They would with covers you could easily make.

beaver34 - 29/8/12 at 06:06 AM

At all ready been through sva in 04 so I'm lucky in that respect

Well I'm sure they could, but it's probably the reason why people don't use them much...you did ask

beaver34 - 3/9/12 at 05:29 PM

just need to tidy all the bodywork edges now
