I'm just about to start panelling my Locost and I have a question
At the moment the chassis is in etch primer, once I've finished fettling and pre drilling the Ali panels I'm planning to spray the chassis
with POR chassis black. (got the proper mask and will be leaving the garage doors and windows open!)
My question is, is it worth me pre drilling the chassis (using the ali panels as a template) and then spraying the chassis so I get a coat of paint
on the inside of the rivet holes, or should I just spray the chassis and then drill it for the panels.
I'm using sealed rivets and will be bonding the panels as well.
Thanks Graham
I'll be using a squirt of waxoyl for any 'internal' protection.
Bonding/riveting should be fine, after all the inside of the chassis tubes will still be bare metal even if you paint the drilled holes. Also if you paint the holes your rivets may not fit and you end up clearing the holes out anyway.

+1
also any swarf that falls inside the tube will get stuck in it and not rattle around![]()
Your dog could not hear any swarf inside the chassis, even if your car is electric.
Just to 2nd/3rd/4th the waxoyl suggestion..
