I got mine direct from Caterham. Around £35 each.

Mine is true lo-cost - chopped up the stainless drum from an old washing machine and with a bit of folding, seaming and rivetting the end result isn't far from the Caterfield one.
Just be careful when working it the inside of the perforations are wicked sharp.
HTH.

I didn't fit a heat shield on my MK Indy (Pinto so exhaust down drivers side). No SVA issues and no one ever burnt themselves on the exhaust either. I'm probably too tight to buy one and didn't want the hassle of making one myself.

As pewe says though - be careful if you do - sheet metal can be hellish sharp on the skin!

In fact I put one on because I burnt myself quite badly inside my right wrist (right hand silencer).
We arrived at an event, I took my helmet off and went to place it on the ground rather than over the gear lever.
Result - hot silencer 1 - exposed skin 0, luckily it didn't go through to the veins/artery otherwise I'd have been in real trouble....
Cheers, Pewe10
PS hope the recovery's going well Nick.
