Can anyone's explain why these catches aren't IVA compliant or cannot be modified to be so?

The IVA ok version is £20 a pair which just seems excessive.
I would think that the sharp edges would make it non-compliant.

I could understand that but when they're closed (i.e. the big rubber ball is in place), the sharp edges aren't exposed.
AH, where the pins are? Wondering if it's possible to put some kind of cover over them. I already have these ones you see and trying desperately to reign in the budget lol.
Even when the rubber ball is located, the wings so to speak are still projecting plus the bottom bracket has sharp edges and a pin. Too much hassle to make them comply. I would get something better than these as I have seen the rubber start to crack and fail on some of them.
Try these?
