Seatbelt Mountings

I plan to bolt eyebolts through a crossbar on my rollbar to satisfy SVA hight requirements. I am going to bolt them horizontally through the crossbar. Can I use locking nuts or do I have to set in some threaded bushes?

dont know bout doing it that way,i used 3mm plate wrapped all the way round the bar and bolted through,if you do go through the bar use tube inside the bar to stop crushing and nylocs

You must have strong fingers, I think I could manage 2mm but 3, wow!

I drilled a big hole right through, put in an insert and welded it top and bottom. I then ground the top welds down to get a nice smooth profile (the top weld was into a deep 'V' to allow this).

The insert was around 30mm dia, with a blind hole threaded as required.

My rollbar is fairly massive, so if these mounting fail I'm in deep sh*t anyway!

MK will supply you with the threaded tubes for a small fee.
