I've been thinking about making the chassis and scuttle area as one piece welded togethor, then have access with a flip down dash, anyone ever done anything like this?

Caterham dashs are fixed solid to the chassis and the scuttle can lift free without removing wires etc. Its very good.

My scuttle is separate from the dash and can be lifted off by undoing 4 bolts ,leaving the dash / wiring mounted to a hoop welded to the chassis.
