is it a good idea to be spray painting when the wheater is as unsettled as it is at the moment? (it's not raining but has been and may restart sand will be done under cover).

I read that when there is moisture in the air, this gets pucked up by the spray and messes up the finish - really want to get the nose cone finished but can wait for drier weather....

Can you not paint it in the garage?

i think he means the rain / damp atmosphere affects the paint finish.

We all know the conditions we would like for it but at a minimum I never paint or varnish unless the streets and roof of the buildings are dry. This is a good indication of moisture in the air.

I believe the trick is to use fast thinners.

However if spaying in the damp expect to see mico blisters appearing in the summer as the moisture that gets trapped trys to escape.

You could of course brush it ! sounds stupid but you would be surprised how good a finish you will get, then flatten it in a couple of months with very fine wet n dry, finish with a 'tcut' and polish.
