I bought a second hand Robinhood part built...(part fu**ed)...The guy has used 6mm stainless bolts to hold the floorpan onto the chassis....this means
that there are the ends of the bolts sticcking out of the bottom of the car...
They are all too long so would need cutting down anyway...but it still not ideal...SVA man wouldnt like all these sharp lumps under the car and all
the crap will get caught on the bolts.....
Is it possible to get 6mm stainless blind rivets to replace the bolts with?....If I rivet from under the car I will get a nice smoother
underbelly....
I would imagine I would need something large to acutally squeeze a 6mm rivet though....any Ideas?
Dunc
SVA man won't care about projections underneath the car.
For that many rivets that size I would buy a set of lazy tongs! Save your wrist!
What you might want to do is dip the rivets in sealant as you pop them into the hole... may help prevent moisture ingress and is cheap/easy/light to
do!

James
A quick Google for "closed end pop rivets"will find lots of places to get them.
6.4mm should do you and as James says
dip in sealant first.
I hate rivets, see my car...........
6mm stainless blind rivets are hard to pop
But do give a nice finish, maybe leave the odd bolt in as well?

We were talking in an earlier thread today about how good Primary Fasteners are and this is a good opportunity to try them out. If you contact them, I
am sure they will provide you with very sound advice on fastening the floor based on fact not opinion.

Yip the build diary made me laugh, excellent, talented bears indeed!
strange cats though. The racehorse looks familiar.
Thanks
BRILLIANT! They've done a really nice job on the dash/scuttle.
Should look smart when it's finished, not just the bear bones.
Sorry couldn't resist it.
