I have made up a wood and skin mock up of a possible rear wing for my
build and am looking for input on shaping. They are pretty roughly
done right now but shows the shape. I am trying to stay away from the
cobra style rear with the fenders bulging up from the rear. Coments
welcome good or bad.

That looks alright
What are you going to do for sides, wasted in to the chassis or with side pods, or something entirely different?
Cheers
Alex
I had intended to go with just cycle fenders but I am open to ideas. The slope on the side would lead right into running boards or pods but I dont
have any idea on how to finish it off without going to enclosed front wings.

A car I see in Brighton every year is an old Allard J2 called "the Old Fella".
It might give you some inspiration

I do like the allard and was looking at the kit they make in Quebec (I think) I like the rear as its still curves but not as pronounced as the cobra
rear.
It definately needs something to break up the rear view. A diffuser like on the donkeys would work probably.
I have also been looking at the aero things they put behind the driver like on the lotus 11 and such.
Dale
excuse the dodgy photoshoping but what about curving the lower corners up tlike this?
cheers
Chris
Thanks, I had drawn that out on the actual piece but that is much better.
Dale
like it
the full wings may suit it better though.
Mr Whippy, you may be correct. Its not what I had planned, but then again My plans have changed several times as I look at it. I could see a non
cross eyed version of the aero 8 morgan front suiting it. I will have to do some drawing and maybe photoshoping tonight.
Thanks
Dale
Redid the back with simple standard type rear wing. I think the front blends into the front of the car better but the back needs help or to be
blended in. The Marlin sportster , NG do it somewhat like this but I think it needs curves.

Edges softened a bit and fill in the back:

Yes I think that looks much better though it has a very fat arse, not that there's anything wrong with that (as thats what my Falcon needs). Nice
rounded shape suits it and makes it look more stylish. Some chrome bumpers would be good.
I particularly like the skuttle/bonnet area and how it blends into the wings, lovely .
Keep it up

Geof, Thats nice I like it.
I have draw it with the rear wings down about 3/4 inch from the trunk/boot line to bring some distinction/break from the long flow. Opinions on
weather or not it should flow continous or have that breaking edge. I will not be able to get alot of radius on that edge but maybe .5 to.75 inch.
I will probably do a 3/4 radius on the edge of the the wings /running boards.
Thanks
Dale
I would make them flow from the trunk.
Redo one of rears. I will try and redo the top portion so it ends at the top of the slope to the ground at the back . I think it may look better.
I think a series of 2 or 3 torpedo styled tail lights on the junction of the vertical and horizontal would smooth things out -- well plus some radius.

I think it would good with the leading edge being fairly square, then smoothign out to a fair radius, something that you're hand could curve round nicely would look nice.
I really like the look of the car with the full wings and running boards. However, just wondering if a bit of a curve on the tops if the wings would
'lighten' up the design a bit.
Personaly I love the shape of the rear wings on the Striker, maybe something similar?
How about the RX8 as an idea for the front? I really like this look and it could work in a more exagerated form to bring full wings together with a 7
type nose.
I would also suggest wasp waisting the "running boards" this will ease some of the clunkiness Morgan made with their V8 monstrosity!

I plan on putting a waist on it to bring the running board down to maybe 3/4 of the fender width. I want to keep the running board thick enough to
have the pipes come out from inside it. Going to try and shape up a nose today or at least wood form it so I can work out the front. may sweep the
front wings a bit more to ad a bit of the old racing morgan 4-4 style.
Dale
Cool. I look foward to developments

It's great to see somebody trying something a bit different, I've been following this with interest.
Looking good!
