Windscreen supports
Markp - 30/7/03 at 06:12 PM

i've been on the road for around a month with nothing more than a wind shield, and I joke you not, it can get cold.

I've gone back to the book to look at windscreens.

It says the windscreens support brackets are 5mm thick.

Can this be right?? If so how do you bend them to marry up with the scuttle??

Cheers
Mark

i was told you need to reinforce the scuttle if you are going to fit a full windscreen otherwise the fiberglass cracks.

Is this true? if so how do i add extra support to it?

The Caterpork example is made in 6.0mm Alu. I'll post a sketch (when I find it!!).

Reenforcing the scuttle might depend on the angle of the windscreen...

I would suggest to simply take the supports a little farther down and mount them to the exterior edge of the outside footwell members.
