need to fill small holes on body with gel coat finish is it possible to obtain near invisible repair and what is best method and products to use any advice much appreciated thanks

I'd recommend getting some flowcoat (not gelcoat!!) and some pigment to match your gelcoat colour (CFS recommended by me) then make up some pigmented flowcoat (between 1% and 10% pigment- make some up to see which is closest)...
Find the right % pigment flowcoat, fill the hole with it, sand it flush with a file then with wet + dry, then polish it smooth with a dremel tool with a polishing mop and some autosol. Worked for me anyway....

Thats great, I have a few stone chips (despite the steel guards) on my rear mudguards.

Where can I get this flocoat and pigment from?.

I got West & Senior to do a colour match for me on my badly oxidised yellow gelcoat.

Pigment came back a perfect match until I started to sand the original gelcoat and it lightened up.

Gonna have to spray it

If the gelcoat is oxidised then you're going to have problems. The new gelcoat will oxidise at a different rate so even if it's close when you finish the job it'll eventually become a different colour.

For pigment and flowcoat I'd recommend CFS supplies.
