For those that have been asking, here are some pics of the new aeroscreen on my Stuart Taylor (the one with the lip/ledge on the scuttle).

I decided not to cut away the corners of the ledge in case sometime I decide to go for a normal screen again.

Fitting was fine - the screen is quite thin and flexible so you can bend it round to fit quite well. The ledge itself did not cause a problem height-wise.

Before anything else I sprayed the underside with some matt black paint to cover up a few whitish patches on the back of the screen.

I removed the old mirrors which had 2 fixing bolts - the screen covers up one hole anyway, and from the driver's seat I would not be able to see the passenger side mirror anyway, so I think I will get some F1 style mirrors and fix them just in front of the where I have got the side screen hinges.

I decided where I wanted it to go, then drilled the rearmost holes first and fixed it on using motorbike black anodised screen bolts (they come with plastic washers and a rubber nut affair, though I used normal Nylocs in the end). I then did the front centre bolt, then one at the front of each bulge, then the corner ones. On the ST scuttle the lip causes a bit of a gap at teh "corners", so I cut and superglued a piece of flexible rubber tube (cut off a tintop door trim) to block up the hole a bit. It still shows, so I might get some black silicone sealant and fill up the gaps.

The screen is quite flexible in the centre, so I made an L bracket from a piece of ali, fixed it behind the dash with one of the existing dash bolts, and used the final screen bolt to fix the screen on the top. As a final touch I superglued a piece of c/f (leftover from cutting the speedo hole in the dash) onto the facing of the bracket.

As you can see, the suction cup mirror is now stuck on the dash, so I might consider a pukka racing type mirror for the centre sometime. Also, you can still just see daylight frmo the back of the screen between bolting points, so I will probably fit some slimline rubber U trim on the leading edge at some point. I will rub down the filler in the old mirror holes and tidy it up too.

Side mirrors still to be purchased and fitted - I went out today on the motorway to the WLM meeting and I realised how much use I normally do make of the side mirrors.

I got the aeroscreen from tombob5 on ebay - £35 + £15 P&P - and it seems pretty good quality, A number of other locosters on here have them too.

Whats it like on the road ? Does it whip the airflow over your head ?

Screen looking good, but can I pick your brain a little on car set up.
What settings do you use on the front end IE camber ,toe, and spring rates.
My car udersteers quite badly and I am trying to dial it out for this year.

Looks good Simon, interesting to see that you have lifted the centre on the bracket where I have just laid mine flat on the scuttle, I presume thats due to the lip you have on the top of the scuttle?

Thanks for the comments... some answers from me:

1. Yes, the screen is raised up a bit because of the lip on the scuttle. I positioned it so it looked OK and fitted! I raised it up a small bit higher than necessary to clear the lip just so it wouldn't vibrate.

2. The airflow seems to hit me above eye level. Without goggles/helmet it misses my eyes so it's not too bad for short journeys. With a helmet there is some wind effect, i.e. the air runs down the front of the visor, but it is much better than with the mini screen - with that, the air went higher up, but seemed to curl down and go down the back of my neck.

3. Front end setup - from memory, I did a degree or so of camber (can't remember if it is + or - but the wheels "lean in" at the top. I set major toe out for SVA to give self centring, then reset it to more or less 0 toe out. No idea on spring rates - they came with the car I bought as a rolling chassis. How wide is your body ?

Says suit 44" in ebay listing, unlike me my cars a slimline 42"

That's a very personal question! I asked the seller that question as well. In practice, it isn't that wide. I think I measured my body (i.e. chassis at the point where the back of the scuttle joins it) at about 40". The aeroscreen is pretty thin and flexible, so I think it would easily flex out a bit if you have a slightly wider car.
