The combined expertise of Mr Whippy (see post 13.03.07 on widening cycle wings) and Mr. Jack McCormick of Kinetic Aerospace (who sold me a scuttle that was too narrow for my liking), and listening to the sage advice of the Mrs, helped me decide to plunge ahead.

The only difference between what Mr. Whippy did and my effort was that I used packing tape in lieu of wax, no cardboard at all, and wood to hold it all together. Just stuck the tape over the space, turned it all over, and started with the 'glassing.

My scuttle is now the width I want, and with a bit of bodywork/bondo, it will look great.
