Instead of trying to bend the cycle wing supports has anyone tried cutting and welding at 90 degree angle? Obviously the wings are very light therefore not much pressure would be applied to the weld and there's more chance of getting them all correct height.
Thoughts please.

Although the wings are very light you'll be very surprised at the amount of force that goes through the cycle wing supports. Depending on how they are mounted you will get large up or down forces at speed.

Seem to remember someone on here once coming up with a figure of the downforce lost due to front wing lift. It was large and all goes through the supports.

Saying that if the weld is half as good as the others on the chassis it sould take it easily.

The wings might be very light but when the air gets under them (at 70mph officer!!) there is quite a lot of force acting on them!!

Still, many brackets are welded up (i've done some this week) and if done right then the weld should be stronger than the surrounding metal.

Will U2U you now but briefly, these were not made from tube under the arch itself, rather steel bar (and originated as Wesfield items before i killed them with the angry grinder.
