I am very tempted to enter the Goodwood sprint in 2 weeks and am trying to get things sorted before sending my entry in, I will need to fit one of
those timing line breakers the - vertical black plates and wondered what other sprinters have used
I know a few of the other MNR owners sprint theirs, can you let me know what you have used and how it is fitted to the front nose cone, I have the
later race nose cone not the standard 7 style nose
I hope that makes sense, probably as clear as mud!!
A timing strut is normally mandatory for sprints and hill climbs.
It doesn't have to be made of much - a thin bit of ally painted black and bolted on somewhere through the grille perhaps?
If you have the blue book it will say the dimensions and heights for it.

Drop FlameZ (Phil) a U2U - he made a really nice one for his Mac and it was so simple!!

Regs for strut are:
General
10.9. Timing Struts – Where timing is activated by a
light beam, the vehicles will be fitted at the front with a
vertical timing strut, minimum vertical height 254mm,
the bottom of which shall be not less than 180mm and
no more than 200mm from the ground. The strut will be
in matt black on both sides, over its total area, which
shall be not less than 254mm by 51mm. No other, or
further forward, part of the vehicle may interrupt these
dimensions or actuate the timing.
ohhhhhh that is what they are for!
I always assumed they were some sort of tow anchor in case you come off, and they need to drag you out!
Just mount your strut to the front number plate. Alloy or even a cheap sheet of carbon is perfect. I actually bought an a4 size offcut on eBay for a
few quid and cut it up to the right size.

I can sort you out a carbon one for not too much money if you wanted?
