hi guys...

what are the biggest dia alloys you can get on these mnr vortex kits?

so far ive only see 14inch alloys fitted on these cars but my disc/callipers need bigger.
296mm with 4 pot nissan callipers.

thanks

ive found out the fronts are designed for 195/50/15 but these wont clear my callipers/disc...

possibly 195/40/16!....

anyone got this size on their car?

it could be cheaper to buy some 13" wheels and tyres instead of 16" or 17" and buy a new caliper and disk arrangement

i think most people with the MNR VortX run either 13" or 15" wheels. the front arches definately wouldnt go around 17" wheels. not sure about 16" as i havent seen any lo-profile 16" tyres.

Out of interest why do you want such big brakes? im running wilwood powerlite 4pot calipers and solid discs fitted under 15" wheels. When they are warmed up i can easily lock the wheels with a hard stab of the brakes. id have thought anything else would be over-kill?

just for your info, dax use 205/50 R15, 205/45 R16 or 205/40 R17 tyres on the front of the rush

so the dax wings are sized to suit (I can measure mine if you like) although you might need to make your own stays to use them

thanks for the replies...

im trying to use one donor car which has these fitted. chirs and mark said the hubs would fit with minor mods...

i just think the tiny solid disc would heat up to quickly... the weight of the car will be around 650kg so bigger brakes would be nice/needed?......

definately not needed. there are loads of cars well over 650kgs with small brakes. you would be quicker on 13's with a good geometry set up. the large wheels will destroy the ride. think of the weight of a ford sierra with the small brakes?

I have a 318is in a Vortx. I am using the original BBS split rims 17" from the coupe. I thought these would look a bit daft but they actually look really good. My car is no racer tho. I have built/styled for distance driving

what size of tyre are you using ?

antwan - 23/5/11 at 02:26 PM

225x??xr17. sorry not with the car at the moment. MNR did have to remake my front uprights and I needed wider rear wings and front cycles.

additional - sorry 215s on front 225s rear
