has anyone got one of these in their vortex's.
im just interested in how far forward they fit and also weather the handling suffers with the extra 2 cyc and extra wieght hanging over the front
compared to the mazda engine.
anyone got any experience on this?

i think mnr were doing a straight 6 bmw powered car at one point! franky is building a gkd legend with M3 power, so i would think that as long as it fits in the engine bay it would be ok. my honda insall has loads of spare space in front of the engine as i got mine as far back as possible
You won't be able to fit it in the onboard suspension version, mnr are good at making stuff fit tho!
they only do inboard suspension now. it depends on which engine you actually want to install.

I fancied a Jag 4L six in mine but Chris soon put me off the idea.
I reckon they hardly worth the extra weight, sixes are monster cast iron blocks.... why not use a nice light RV8??
I have a 328 in my car. It fits... just, getting it in is a big pain. I think the chassis is slightly longer (not much) than standard. However, it
does sit quite far back, which hurts pedal box space but helps weight distribution no doubt - my car (no cage) weighed in at 350 / 360 kg back / front
at IVA, so dead on. The 328 is about as light as straight sixes get (120 kg?) so a good choice. There's a lot of space between the engine and the
radiator actually - I think if you were clever you probably could squeeze in some inboard suspension (at least in my car).
One problem with this engine is that it's rather tall - however I've managed to get 10 cm of ground clearance and no bonnet scoop, so it
*just about* fits (a theme with this engine).
Haven't driven it enough to say much about handling, except that with so much torque and an LSD it will powerslide beautifully, and it's
really nippy. Plus it makes a fantastic noise.
In summary, if you can make it fit, it's not a bad choice.

ive got a rb25det to get in there but with so minor mods to the chassis we think (chris and marc) can get the engine in their new chassis with inboard
suspension... my only concern was would handling suffer with a heavy lump near the front of the engine bay...
we think the car should way in at 650kg with full cage etc...
btw... chris and marc were really helpful when i saw them... i know im going to buy a kit but just cant pin down the engine...
i was thinking rb25det as ive got one (sounds awesome!) or to find a 200sx s13 donor with a ca18det... again power would be around 280bhp..
s2000 like me mate. i think they sound awesome. chris and mark are top guys and really helpful. they built my chassis around my engine and box and it fits perfectly! that reminds me. i need to call chris to book my car in for pre iva work on monday! if my cars there when you go down,feel free to have a god look around it
The Gkd is the same size as an mnr so a BMW 6 would go in I guess. As long as the engine is far back it shouldn't affect anything really. Lots
of 4cyl cars have their engines further forwards than mine, so technically they've got more weight forward towards the axle line.
I think the rb26 is quite a heavy lump though. A m3 engine with box weighs the same as a red top with tyPe 9 attached.
BMW diffs are heavy though! 32kg for a LSD.
i dont think you'll notice that 32kgs with 300 bhp under the right foot mate! it will be seriously quick

i have over 300 under my right foot
