Hi all,
I have a few questions, I've had a quick search for answers as I'm sure they'll have been covered before but I can't really find
what I'm looking for.
So here are my questions:
1. Is it possible to source most of the components required for the kit as new parts?
2. I've previously considered a Westie kit, how much more difficult is the build of a Mac#1 over a Westie? I don't want anything too
difficult but I wouldn't want it to be a Lego kit! :-)
3. How comprehensive are the instructions for a Mac#1? Compared to, say, Westie instructions?
Many thanks for your help and sorry for any duplicate questions. If it has been discussed then I'd appreciate any links to useful threads.

hi mate basically there all the same kind of car, and you put them together in the same sort of way,
any of the MNR MAC1 MKs would suit your needs where do you live

Hi thanks for your reply. I live in Bristol so if anybody is in the area and is building one, then I'd be really keen to maybe see how they're progressing.
I've built a mac1 and am about 20 minutes from the bridge.

Good choice of kit! Just phone Mark or Collin up, i'm sure they can supply everything you need/want. They are top blokes!

Excellent, this is all very encouraging. I really wanted a Westie but cost would be too high at nearly £12k when I've picked all the options I
need (I mean want!).
The Mac#1 would be around £8k which is pretty much about right. I realise this will probably go up when I get the bug!
Seriously if you haven't spoken to Mark at MAC#1 yet then definitely give him a call.
They have to be one of the most helpful companies in the kitcar business.
Most seven style kitcars are built more or less in the same way so a MAC1 will be no harder to build than a Westfield. If you do get stuck then it
would be hard to find a more helpful company than MAC1 so you'd have excellent support just a phone call away, many times I have been on the
phone to them at 6 or 7pm asking for advice and I'm not even building a MAC1 car!

My first build was a VM (from what I've seen same type of build than a Mac1). My second a Westfield.
My experience with Westfield is that you get what you pay for. The quality is excellent; both the chassis and the bodywork. I can advise it to
anyone.
However with the VM, and I think with a Mac1, you are building a car. With the Westifeld you bold things together to put it a bit simply. You put much
less of yourself in the build.
I love my Westfield, both the build and driving it. But my next one, if it will be a seven, will be a Mac1, MNR or MK. I think that they require more
input from the builder.

Ive only built a Mac#1, it was my first kit car ever and it was very easy to put together. It has been said before that Mac#1's are potentially
one of the easiest to build being a well developed kit (designed for inhouse manufacture so Mac#1 have debugged any assembly problems a long time
ago).
You wont need an assembly manual. Mark and Colin also pride themselves in helping all of their customers directly and as such have one hell of a
service reputation.
No reason why all parts cant be sourced as new.
Give them a call and you will see what i mean.
like everyone has said Mark and Col are two of the most helpful guys in the business ,they can supply all the bits you need to build the complete car
(from a rivit to a bespoke exhaust)
they have quite a few repeat builders(myself included) so this must say something of the company and the people.

I've been in touch with Mark (@Mac#1) and he's given me a lot of reassurance regarding the build.
Just going to get the pennies together!
